Log Loader

Log loaders are self-propelled log loading machines mounted on wheels or tracks. These mobile machines can move loose or solid materials from one place to another and pile or load them. Log loaders deal especially well with transporting large log-shaped objects, while other types of loaders can handle other heavy objects and even loose materials. Essentially, log loaders are tractors that lift and move log-shaped objects from here to there. Log loaders usually have wheels.

There are several types of log loaders. If a loader is especially large, it typically has only one loading area on it. Smaller log loaders frequently come with a small attachments.

If you need prodigious digging capabilities, log loaders are usually not your best solution. Many log loaders can transport tremendous logs that other heavy machines cannot handle. Most log loaders have wheels instead of tracks (unlike bulldozers), which gives them greater mobility and allows them to not damage paved roads as much.

Below is a basic list of several companies and the types of loaders that they carry. Click on the links to visit their Web sites.
